The D. Pharm first-year students of JRG College of Pharmacy visited the Sewage Treatment Plant at the RITE campus as part of their curriculum on Environmental Health and Sanitation. The field visit provided the students with valuable practical exposure to essential processes involved in wastewater treatment. During the visit, students received a detailed explanation of the plant’s operational procedures, including the stages of screening, sedimentation, biological treatment, and disinfection. This hands-on learning experience helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world environmental practices. The visit not only enhanced the students’ understanding of public health and sanitation systems but also emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility in healthcare education.
