On 16th May 2025, a Quality Improvement Program (QIP) session on the topic “Molecular Docking” was successfully conducted under the coordination of Ms. Adyasha Senapati at JRG College of Pharmacy, Khordha.
The session was honored by the gracious presence of all faculty members and our respected Principal Sir, whose participation added significant value to the event. The primary aim of the session was to provide participants with a foundational understanding of Molecular Docking, a pivotal technique in modern drug discovery and design.
Ms. Senapati presented the basic concepts of molecular docking, covering its definition, types (rigid and flexible docking), and fundamental principles like ligand-receptor interactions and binding affinity. The discussion extended to its practical applications in drug discovery—such as identifying potential drug candidates, optimizing lead compounds, and predicting how drugs interact with biological targets.
